OUR HISTORY

House of Fabrics has been trading, at its current location since 1997…

… however the majority of our staff, our managing director and manager of our workroom had already been in this trade for more years and share their wealth of knowledge every day.

In the beautiful and historic town of Saltaire, West Yorkshire we have a large retail outlet which services our local community. We offer a full range of services from Measuring, Advice, Production of Made to Measure Curtains and Blinds and of course fitting the finished product. In addition to made to measure items we feel it is very important to continue offering the fabric and all workroom essentials for those who wish to make their own curtains. Here is where we stock many OUTLET fabrics that are discontinued or end of line and therefore heavily discounted. 

Moving online… 

In 2008 we decided it was time to expand our services and offer them nationwide with the brilliance of the internet and e-commerce. Our initial website was set up and was a huge hit. Since then we have built our own custom website that allows customers to create their own quotations for made to measure curtains and blinds as well as offering the fabrics themselves and other home decor products. The website allows those customers who know what they want to easily place orders whilst still providing a high standard of customer service and advice. Looking to the Future… 

Our online presence has grown from strength to strength and with the aftermath of 2020 it is more important than ever to offer our services online and in the Saltaire shop. The House of Fabrics website shows the majority of fabrics we hold in stock and allows for click & collect for our local customers. We are also expanding to offer exclusive Brand websites. Popular Brands such as Clarke & Clarke and Designers Guild who offer a huge range of styles and designs without compromising on our excellent customer service. We look foward to whatever the future holds and as always keep our customers the top priority.
